Webshots Desktop is a free application that lets you store and manage vast collections of wallpapers for your desktop with ease. It is partly stand-alone and partly online program as it lets you automatically download new photos for your desktop every day of the year. When enabled, Webshots Desktop rotates your wallpaper automatically (weekly, daily, hourly, etc.), creates slideshow screensavers from the photos in your collection, shows a calendar on your desktop etc.
Webshots Desktop is a tool very easy to use - you can download collections of photos from the developer's website or create one from your own photos. The initial setup file includes a few sample photos, but once your install the program, you can immediately download lots and lots more.
Webshots Desktop has a built-in customizable screensaver which can be put to cycle the photos with some exciting transition effects. These effects could be loaded all together or one by one and they have 3 timing selections (long, medium, short). You can also disable the screensaver if it appears annoying or if you like best another one.
A beautiful and very useful part of this software is its calendar, which will be shown on your desktop. Very useful indeed when it comes to remembering the date. Webshots Desktop can also bring you the last 6 months and the future 6 on your desktop, with the current one displayed in the middle, a little larger.
